About this deck
The older pattern, printed from woodcuts in France from the seventeenth century on. Its trumps are full pictures, but its pip cards show arranged suit symbols, read by number and suit rather than by scene. A good second deck, or a first one if its plainness appeals to you.
Who it suits
For readers who like history and structure. The pip cards carry no scenes, so reading them leans on number and suit. It makes a good second deck after a Rider–Waite–Smith, or a first one if you prefer its plainness; Familiar's Marseille pages explain the method.
Learn the cards
Every card in this deck has a page of its own on Familiar: the picture, the upright and reversed readings, and what it asks in love and in work. Start with the Major Arcana.
